The investment seeks to provide investment results that match 200% of the performance of the U.S. Dollar Index®, before fees and expenses, on a daily basis.
The fund employs as its investment strategy a program of investing in derivative instruments, which primarily consist of index swaps, futures contracts, and options on securities, securities indices, and futures contracts. The U.S. Dollar Index® measures the performance of the U.S. dollar against a basket of foreign currencies that include the Euro, Japanese Yen, British Pound, Canadian Dollar, Swedish Krona and Swiss Franc. The fund is non-diversified.
The investment seeks to replicate, net of expenses, the Double Short Euro Index.
As the index is two-times leveraged, for every 1% weakening of the euro relative to the U.S. dollar, the level of the index will generally increase by 2%, while for every 1% strengthening of the euro relative to the U.S. dollar, the index will generally decrease by 2%.
