Description
The investment seeks as high a rate of current income as Putnam Investment Management, LLC believes is consistent with preservation of capital. The fund employs an asset allocation strategy designed for investors who are already in retirement or who plan to retire (or otherwise begin withdrawing the invested funds) in the near future. It is designed to provide diversification among different asset classes by investing its assets in other Putnam mutual funds, referred to as underlying funds.
The investment seeks high current income and, as a secondary objective, capital appreciation. The fund invests in a combination of Fidelity® domestic equity funds, international equity funds (developed and emerging markets), bond funds, and short-term funds (underlying Fidelity® Funds).
The investment seeks to achieve growth, income, and conservation of capital to varying degrees depending on its proximity to its target date. The managers will attempt to achieve its investment objectives by investing in a mix of affiliated and unaffiliated funds (the underlying funds) in different combinations and weightings without limit. The fund is designed for an investor who retired in or around the year 2010 (the target date) at age 67 and who plans to withdraw the value of the investor's account in the fund gradually after retirement. The target date is the year that an investor likely would stop making new investments in the fund.

Similarity

FeeX's similarity algorithm analyzes over 15 investment characteristics like investment category, asset allocation, strategy, geographical allocation and more. FeeX gives each its own weight and calculates the similarity of any two investments based on a scale of 0 to 100%. Funds with a similarity ranking of 85% and higher are considered "similar".

Yes, funds and ETFs charge fees

Deep within every fund you own lies a hidden fee called expense ratio. It takes away a set % of your savings each and every year. It can often be easily reduced by switching to similar investments with lower expense ratios.
