Description
The investment seeks to provide a combination of total return and stability of principal consistent with an asset allocation targeted to retirement. Under normal market conditions, the Portfolio invests at least 80% of its net assets (plus borrowings for investment purposes) in a combination of underlying funds, which are passively managed index funds. The underlying funds invest in U.S. stocks, international stocks, U.S. bonds, and other debt instruments and the Portfolio uses an asset allocation strategy designed for investors expecting to retire soon or are already retired.
The investment seeks to provide for retirement outcomes based on quantitatively measured risk. The fund is a "feeder" fund that invests all of its assets in the Master Portfolio, a series of Master Investment Portfolio with a substantially identical investment objective, which allocates and reallocates its assets among a combination of equity and bond index funds and money market funds in proportions based on its own comprehensive investment strategy. It will invest, at least 80% of its assets in securities or other financial instruments that are components of or have economic characteristics similar to the securities included in its custom benchmark index.
The investment seeks high total return over time primarily through income, with a secondary emphasis on capital appreciation. The fund is a "fund of funds" that invests in Institutional Class shares of other funds of the Trust and in other investment pools or investment products. It invests in underlying funds according to a relatively stable asset allocation strategy that will not gradually adjust over time and is designed for investors who are already in or entering retirement. Target allocations may be changed and actual allocations may vary up to ten percentage points from the targets.

Similarity

FeeX's similarity algorithm analyzes over 15 investment characteristics like investment category, asset allocation, strategy, geographical allocation and more. FeeX gives each its own weight and calculates the similarity of any two investments based on a scale of 0 to 100%. Funds with a similarity ranking of 85% and higher are considered "similar".

Yes, funds and ETFs charge fees

Deep within every fund you own lies a hidden fee called expense ratio. It takes away a set % of your savings each and every year. It can often be easily reduced by switching to similar investments with lower expense ratios.
