Description
The investment seeks to provide for retirement outcomes based on quantitatively measured risk. The advisor normally intends to invest primarily in affiliated open-end funds and affiliated exchange-traded funds. The fund is designed for investors expecting to retire or to begin withdrawing assets around the year 2020. At the time it reaches its target retirement date in 2020, the asset allocation of the fund is expected to be approximately 40% in underlying funds that invest in equity and 60% in underlying funds that invest in fixed income, and the target allocation may shift over time depending on market conditions. The fund is non-diversified.
The investment seeks to provide capital appreciation and current income consistent with its current asset allocation. The fund invests in other Vanguard mutual funds according to an asset allocation strategy designed for investors planning to retire and leave the workforce in or within a few years of 2020 (the target year). The fund's asset allocation will become more conservative over time, meaning that the percentage of assets allocated to stocks will decrease while the percentage of assets allocated to bonds and other fixed income investments will increase.

Similarity

FeeX's similarity algorithm analyzes over 15 investment characteristics like investment category, asset allocation, strategy, geographical allocation and more. FeeX gives each its own weight and calculates the similarity of any two investments based on a scale of 0 to 100%. Funds with a similarity ranking of 85% and higher are considered "similar".

Yes, funds and ETFs charge fees

Deep within every fund you own lies a hidden fee called expense ratio. It takes away a set % of your savings each and every year. It can often be easily reduced by switching to similar investments with lower expense ratios.
