Description
The investment seeks to make monthly distributions, while preserving the investors' capital over the long term. The investment manager invests primarily in a distinctly-weighted combination of underlying funds, predominantly other Franklin Templeton mutual funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs), based on each underlying fund's predominant asset class and strategy. It invests 30% of its assets are allocated to equity investments, 65% of its assets are allocated to fixed-income investments and 5% of its assets are allocated to alternative investments.
The investment seeks to provide capital appreciation and current income consistent with its current asset allocation. The fund invests in other Vanguard mutual funds according to an asset allocation strategy designed for investors planning to retire and leave the workforce in or within a few years of 2015 (the target year). The fund's asset allocation will become more conservative over time, meaning that the percentage of assets allocated to stocks will decrease while the percentage of assets allocated to bonds and other fixed income investments will increase.
The investment seeks to provide capital appreciation and income consistent with its current asset allocation. The fund seeks to achieve its investment objective by investing primarily in a combination of other Schwab Funds and Laudus Funds. The fund may also invest in unaffiliated third party mutual funds (referred to herein as unaffiliated funds and, together with Schwab Funds and Laudus Funds, the underlying funds). The fund invests in the underlying funds in accordance with its target portfolio allocation.
