Description
The investment seeks long-term capital growth. The fund seeks to achieve its investment objective by investing primarily in the equity securities (common stocks, preferred stocks and convertible securities) of small capitalization U.S. companies. Under normal circumstances, it will invest at least 80% of its assets (for the purpose of this requirement, net assets includes net assets plus any borrowings for investment purposes) in equity securities of companies with small market capitalization.

Under normal circumstances, at least 80% of the fund's net assets (plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes) are invested in equity securities of small market capitalization companies. These companies have market capitalizations of $5 billion or less at the time of investment. The fund's investments may include common stocks, preferred stocks, securities convertible into common stocks, real estate investment trusts ("REITs"), American Depositary Receipts ("ADRs") and U.S. dollar-denominated foreign stocks traded on U.S. exchanges (collectively, "stocks").
The investment seeks long term capital appreciation. Under normal circumstances, the fund will invest at least 80% of its net assets (including amounts borrowed for investment purposes) in equity securities of small-capitalization companies. It will primarily invest in common stock. The fund's manager considers small-capitalization companies to be companies with capitalization within the range of the capitalization of those companies included in the Russell 2000 Value Index at the time of purchase.
