Description
The investment seeks long-term growth of capital. The fund invests primarily in micro-cap companies. It will invest at least 80% of the fund's net assets (plus borrowings for investment purposes) in the equity securities of micro-capitalization companies. The adviser considers a company to be a micro-capitalization company if its market capitalization, at the time of purchase, is less than the larger of $1.5 billion or the market capitalization of the largest company in the Russell Microcap Index. The fund may invest up to 30% of its total assets at the time of purchase in securities issued by foreign companies in developed or emerging markets.
The investment seeks to provide total return through long-term capital appreciation and current income. The fund seeks to achieve its investment objective by investing in a diversified group of U.S.-traded equity securities consisting of common and preferred stock, ADRs, and REITs. Under normal circumstances, it invests at least 80% of its net assets (plus any borrowings for investment purposes) in small cap securities. The fund's sub-advisor generally defines a small cap company as one having a market capitalization less than the market cap of the largest company in the Russell 2000 Index at the time of acquisition.

Yes, funds and ETFs charge fees

Deep within every fund you own lies a hidden fee called expense ratio. It takes away a set % of your savings each and every year. It can often be easily reduced by switching to similar investments with lower expense ratios.
