The investment seeks long-term capital growth. The fund invests at least 80% of its net assets in small-cap equity securities. Small-cap equity securities generally are securities with market capitalizations within the universe of the Russell 2000® Index at the time of purchase by the fund. The fund seeks to assemble a portfolio with long-term performance that will exceed that of the Russell 2000 Index.
The investment seeks to provide investment results that, before fees and expenses, correspond generally to the total return performance of the Russell 2000® Low Volatility Index. The fund generally invests substantially all, but at least 80%, of its total assets in the securities comprising the index. It will provide shareholders with at least 60 days' notice prior to any material change in this 80% investment policy. The index includes small cap U.S. equity securities and is designed to capture stocks with low volatility. Volatility is a measure of a security's variability in total returns based on its historic behavior. The fund is non-diversified.
The investment seeks to track as closely as possible, before fees and expenses, the total return of the Russell Fundamental U.S. Small Company Index. The fund normally will invest at least 90% of its net assets in stocks included in the index. The index measures the performance of the small company size segment by fundamental overall company scores, which are created using as the universe the companies included in the Russell 3000® Index. It may invest up to 10% of its net assets in securities not included in the index.
