It concentrates its investments (invests more than 25% of its net assets) in securities in the U.S. and non-U.S. financial services (i.e., banking, insurance and commercial finance,) industry. The fund also regularly invests in the real estate investment trust (i.e. REIT) and utility industries.

The fund normally invests at least 80% of its total assets in securities that comprise the fund's benchmark index. The index is comprised of convertible or exchangeable and non-convertible preferred securities listed on U.S. exchanges. The fund is non-diversified.
