The investment seeks to generate current income consistent with preservation of capital. The fund invests at least 80% of its net assets in fixed-income securities and derivatives related to fixed-income securities. It invests in a portfolio that includes fixed-income securities of U.S. and non-U.S. companies and U.S. and non-U.S. government securities and supranational entities, including lower-rated securities. The fund may invest in debt securities with a range of maturities from short- to long-term. The adviser expects that its average portfolio duration will vary normally from negative 3 years to positive 7 years.

The fund will invest, under normal circumstances, at least 80% of its net assets in bonds and other financial instruments, principally derivative instruments and exchange-traded funds (ETFs), with economic characteristics similar to bonds. It may invest up to 50% of its assets in below investment grade securities (also referred to as "high yield bonds" or "junk bonds") and may invest up to 50% of its assets in non-U.S. dollar denominated securities, including securities issued by companies located in emerging markets.

The fund invests in fixed-income instruments, including investment-grade securities and below investment-grade securities, commonly referred to as "junk bonds." It generally maintains a dollar-weighted average duration profile between -2 and 6 years. The fund may also invest in floating rate loans, and other floating rate debt instruments.
