Description
The investment seeks a high level of income exempt from federal income taxes and New York State and New York City personal income taxes. Under normal market conditions, the fund invests at least 80% of its total assets in securities that pay interest free from federal income taxes, including the federal alternative minimum tax, and from New York State personal income taxes. Although the fund tries to invest all of its assets in tax-free securities, it is possible that up to 20% of the fund's total assets may be invested in securities that pay taxable interest, including interest that may be subject to the federal alternative minimum tax.
The investment seeks to provide current income that is exempt from both federal and New York personal income taxes. The fund invests primarily in high-quality municipal bonds issued by New York state and local governments, as well as by regional governmental and public financing authorities. It invests at least 80% of its assets will be invested in securities whose income is exempt from federal and New York state taxes. Although the fund has no limitations on the maturities of individual securities, its dollar-weighted average maturity is expected to be between 10 and 25 years. It is non-diversified.
The investment seeks to track the investment results of the S&P New York AMT-Free Municipal Bond IndexTM. The fund generally will invest at least 90% of its assets in the component securities of the underlying index and may invest up to 10% of its assets in certain futures, options and swap contracts, cash and cash equivalents. The index measures the performance of the investment-grade segment of the New York municipal bond market. The fund is non-diversified.
