The investment seeks a high level of current interest income exempt from regular federal, New Jersey State and, in some cases, New Jersey local income taxes as is consistent with preservation of capital. Under normal market conditions, the fund invests at least 80% of the sum of its net assets and the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes in municipal bonds that pay interest that is exempt from regular federal and New Jersey personal income tax. These municipal bonds include obligations issued by the State of New Jersey and its subdivisions, authorities, instrumentalities and corporations, as well as obligations issued by U.S. territories.
The investment seeks to provide current income that is exempt from both federal and New Jersey personal income taxes. The fund invests primarily in high-quality municipal bonds issued by New Jersey state and local governments, as well as by regional governmental and public financing authorities. At least 80% of its assets will be invested in securities whose income is exempt from federal and New Jersey state taxes. Although the fund has no limitations on the maturities of individual securities, its dollar-weighted average maturity is expected to be between 10 and 25 years. The fund is non-diversified.
