Description
The investment seeks to provide a high level of current interest income exempt from federal income tax, as is consistent with the preservation of capital. The fund pursues its investment objective by investing primarily in municipal securities, including mortgage-related securities, with fixed, variable, or floating interest rates. Under normal circumstances, the fund will invest at least 80% of its net assets in bonds issued by or on behalf of various states or municipalities, the interest on which is exempt from federal income tax. Federal income taxation includes the alternative minimum tax.
The investment seeks as high a rate of income exempt from federal income taxes as is consistent with prudent investment management. The fund invests primarily in a diversified selection of municipal bonds (for example, general obligation bonds of a state or bonds financing a specific project) with maturities of one to seventeen years. A majority of the fund's investments are in issues with maturities longer than five years. It normally invests at least 70% of its total assets in municipal bonds rated A or better by Moody's or S&P, meaning that up to 30% of the fund's total assets may be invested in medium and lower-quality bonds.
The investment seeks to track the investment results of the S&P National AMT-Free Municipal Bond IndexTM. The fund generally will invest at least 90% of its assets in the component securities of the underlying index and may invest up to 10% of its assets in certain futures, options and swap contracts, cash and cash equivalents. The index measures the performance of the investment-grade segment of the U.S. municipal bond market.

Similarity

FeeX's similarity algorithm analyzes over 15 investment characteristics like investment category, asset allocation, strategy, geographical allocation and more. FeeX gives each its own weight and calculates the similarity of any two investments based on a scale of 0 to 100%. Funds with a similarity ranking of 85% and higher are considered "similar".

Yes, funds and ETFs charge fees

Deep within every fund you own lies a hidden fee called expense ratio. It takes away a set % of your savings each and every year. It can often be easily reduced by switching to similar investments with lower expense ratios.
