The investment seeks as high a rate of income exempt from federal income taxes as is consistent with prudent investment management. The fund normally invests at least 80% of its total assets in municipal bonds within the highest four rating categories of Moody's Investors Service, Inc. ("Moody's") or Standard & Poor's ("S&P"), meaning that the fund may invest up to 20% of the fund's total assets in less than investment grade municipal bonds.
The investment seeks to replicate as closely as possible, before fees and expenses, the price and yield performance of the Bloomberg Barclays AMT-Free Intermediate Continuous Municipal Index. The fund normally invests at least 80% of its total assets in fixed income securities that comprise the index. The index is comprised of publicly traded municipal bonds that cover the U.S. dollar denominated intermediate term tax-exempt bond market.
The investment seeks to track the investment results of the S&P National AMT-Free Municipal Bond IndexTM. The fund generally will invest at least 90% of its assets in the component securities of the underlying index and may invest up to 10% of its assets in certain futures, options and swap contracts, cash and cash equivalents. The index measures the performance of the investment-grade segment of the U.S. municipal bond market.
