The investment seeks as high a level of current income exempt from federal income tax and from Minnesota state personal income taxes as is consistent with preservation of capital. Under normal circumstances, the fund will invest at least 80% of its net assets, plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes, in municipal securities the income from which is exempt from federal income tax, including the federal alternative minimum tax, and from Minnesota state personal income taxes. It will generally have a dollar-weighted average effective maturity of between 5 and 30 years.
The investment seeks high current income that is exempt from federal regular income tax and Minnesota regular personal income tax consistent with preservation of capital. The fund seeks to achieve its objective by investing primarily in municipal securities that generate interest income that is exempt from regular federal income tax and Minnesota regular personal income tax. It invests 100% (and, as a fundamental policy, no less than 80%) of its net assets in such tax-exempt municipal securities. It is non-diversified.
The investment seeks a high level of interest income that is exempt from both federal and state income tax for individual residents of the state of Minnesota; it also seeks income that is not a tax preference item for purposes of the federal alternative minimum tax. At least 80% of the fund's net assets (plus any borrowings for investment purposes) will be invested in municipal securities that pay interest that is exempt from federal income tax and is not a Tax Preference Item, and any applicable state income tax for individual residents of the state of Minnesota. However, the fund typically attempts to invest all of its assets in such securities.
