The investment seeks to provide long-term capital appreciation. The fund normally invests at least 80% of the fund's net assets in the common stock equity securities of mid-capitalization companies. Mid-capitalization companies are defined as those whose market capitalizations are similar to the market capitalization of companies in the Russell MidCap Index or a similar index. It also may invest in open-end investment companies and exchange traded funds.
The investment seeks to track the performance of a benchmark index that measures the investment return of mid-capitalization value stocks in the United States. The fund employs an indexing investment approach designed to track the performance of the S&P MidCap 400® Value Index, which represents the value companies, as determined by the index sponsor, of the S&P MidCap 400 Index. The Advisor attempts to replicate the target index by investing all, or substantially all, of its assets in the stocks that make up the index, holding each stock in approximately the same proportion as its weighting in the index.
The investment seeks long-term capital growth; income is a secondary consideration. Under normal market conditions, the portfolio managers will invest at least 80% of the fund's net assets in medium size companies. The portfolio managers consider medium size companies to include those whose market capitalization at the time of purchase is within the capitalization range of the Russell 3000® Index, excluding the largest 100 such companies.
