The investment seeks to provide high current income. The fund invests at least 80% of its assets in a portfolio of taxable municipal bonds, income producing convertible securities, preferred stocks, high yield U.S. corporate bonds, and CMOs. It may also invest in U.S. government agency securities issued or guaranteed by U.S. government-sponsored enterprises and federal agencies, including securities issued by the Federal National Mortgage Association, the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, and the Government National Mortgage Association. The fund may also invest in MLPs, equity securities of dividend paying companies and private placements.
The investment seeks investment results that generally correspond to the price and yield (before fees and expenses) of the BofA Merrill Lynch Build America Bond Index. The fund generally invests at least 80% of its total assets in taxable municipal securities eligible to participate in the Build America Bond program created under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (the "Act") or other legislation providing for the issuance of taxable municipal securities on which the issuer receives federal support of the interest paid ("Build America Bonds") and that comprise the underlying index.
