Description
The investment seeks total return. The fund's primary strategy consists of selling and purchasing put and call options on equity indexes and exchange traded funds. The sale of put options generates income for the fund, but exposes it to the risk of declines in the value of the underlying assets. The risk in purchasing options is limited to the premium paid by the fund for the options. The sale of call options generates income for the fund, but may limit the fund's participation in equity market gains. The fund's investment adviser seeks to reduce the overall volatility of returns by managing a portfolio of options. It is non-diversified.
The investment seeks to replicate, net of expenses, the Credit Suisse Tremont Long/Short Equity Hedge Fund Index. The index tracks the performance of non-hedge fund, transparent market measures.
The investment seeks performance results that correspond to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the Indxx Hedged Dividend Income Index. The fund seeks to track the performance of the Indxx Hedged Dividend Income Index by investing at least 80% of its net assets (plus any borrowing for investment purposes) in common stock of the long positions in the underlying index and sells short at least 80% of the short positions in the underlying index. The index is a long/short index in which the long positions, in the aggregate, have approximately twice the weight as the short positions, in the aggregate.

Similarity

FeeX's similarity algorithm analyzes over 15 investment characteristics like investment category, asset allocation, strategy, geographical allocation and more. FeeX gives each its own weight and calculates the similarity of any two investments based on a scale of 0 to 100%. Funds with a similarity ranking of 85% and higher are considered "similar".

Yes, funds and ETFs charge fees

Deep within every fund you own lies a hidden fee called expense ratio. It takes away a set % of your savings each and every year. It can often be easily reduced by switching to similar investments with lower expense ratios.
