The investment seeks current income; long-term growth of capital is a secondary objective. The fund invests in dividend-paying equity securities, consisting of domestic common stocks, preferred stocks, rights, warrants and convertible securities. During normal market conditions, at least 80% of the fund's assets will be invested in dividend-paying equity securities. The fund may invest up to 20% of its net assets in sponsored or unsponsored ADRs and securities of foreign companies that are traded on U.S. stock exchanges.

The fund will invest at least 90% of its assets in the component securities of the index and may invest up to 10% of its assets in certain futures, options and swap contracts, cash and cash equivalents. The index measures the performance of equity securities in the top 85% by market capitalization of equity securities listed on stock exchanges in the USA that, in the aggregate, have lower volatility relative to the broader U.S. equity market.
The investment seeks investment results that generally correspond (before fees and expenses) to the price and yield of the S&P 500® Quality Index. The fund's principal investment strategy will be to generally invest at least 90% of its total assets in the securities that comprise the underlying index. The index is constructed from the constituents of the S&P 500® Index that are of the highest quality-that is, stocks of companies that seek to generate higher revenue and cash flow than their counterparts through prudent use of assets and finances.
