The investment seeks to achieve long-term total rate of return, consistent with preservation of capital, by investing primarily in investment-grade bonds of varying maturities.
Under normal circumstances, the fund will invest at least eighty percent (80%) of the value of its net assets, plus any borrowings for investment purposes, in bonds of varying maturities. Bonds for purposes of this limitation include corporate bonds, convertible bonds, government and agency securities, mortgage-backed securities, asset-backed securities, and zero coupon bonds.

Under normal market conditions, the fund invests at least 80% of its net assets (plus borrowings for investment purposes) in a portfolio of bonds, including but not limited to corporate, government and mortgage bonds, which, at the time of purchase, are rated investment-grade (e.g., rated at least BBB- by Standard & Poor's Ratings Services or Baa3 by Moody's Investors Service, Inc.) or have an equivalent rating by a nationally recognized statistical rating organization ("NRSRO"), or are of comparable quality if unrated.
