The investment seeks a total return consisting of capital appreciation and income that exceeds the total return of the Barclays U.S. Aggregate Bond Index (the "index").
The fund normally invests at least 80% of its net assets plus any borrowings for investment purposes (measured at the time of purchase) ("Net Assets") in fixed income securities, including securities issued or guaranteed by the U.S. government, its agencies, instrumentalities or sponsored enterprises, corporate debt securities, privately issued adjustable rate and fixed rate mortgage loans or other mortgage-related securities and asset-backed securities.

Under normal market conditions, the fund invests at least 80% of its net assets (plus borrowings for investment purposes) in a portfolio of bonds, including but not limited to corporate, government and mortgage bonds, which, at the time of purchase, are rated investment-grade (e.g., rated at least BBB- by Standard & Poor's Ratings Services or Baa3 by Moody's Investors Service, Inc.) or have an equivalent rating by a nationally recognized statistical rating organization ("NRSRO"), or are of comparable quality if unrated.
