Description
The investment seeks high current income while maintaining liquidity and safety of principal by investing primarily in GNMA certificates. Under normal market conditions, the fund invests at least 80% of its net assets in securities issued by the Government National Mortgage Association (GNMA). GNMA certificates represent interests in pools of mortgage loans and in the cash flows from these loans. To generate additional income, the fund may purchase securities, including mortgage dollar rolls, in advance through when-issued and forward commitment transactions. It may commit up to 35% of its total assets to such transactions.
The investment seeks to provide a moderate level of current income. The fund invests at least 80% of its assets in Government National Mortgage Association (GNMA) pass-through certificates, which are fixed income securities representing part ownership in a pool of mortgage loans supported by the full faith and credit of the U.S. government. It may invest in other types of securities such as U.S. Treasury or other U.S. government agency securities. The fund's dollar-weighted average maturity will normally fall within an intermediate-term range (3 to 10 years).

Yes, funds and ETFs charge fees

Deep within every fund you own lies a hidden fee called expense ratio. It takes away a set % of your savings each and every year. It can often be easily reduced by switching to similar investments with lower expense ratios.
