Description
The investment seeks total return that exceeds the rate of inflation over the long-term, with an emphasis on current income, but also considering capital appreciation. The fund normally invests at least 80% of the fund's net assets in inflation-adjusted debt instruments and other instruments with similar economic characteristics. MFS currently intends to focus the fund's investments in inflation-adjusted debt instruments issued by the U.S. Treasury.
The investment seeks to track as closely as possible, before fees and expenses, the price and yield performance of the Bloomberg Barclays U.S. Treasury Inflation Protected Securities (TIPS) Index (Series L). The fund will invest at least 90% of its net assets in securities included in the index. The index includes all publicly-issued U.S. TIPS that have at least one year remaining to maturity, are rated investment grade and have $250 million or more of outstanding face value. The TIPS in the index must be denominated in U.S. dollars and must be fixed-rate and non-convertible. It may invest up to 10% of its net assets in securities not included in its index.
The investment seeks to provide investment results that correspond to the total return of the inflation-protected sector of the United States Treasury market. The fund normally invests at least 80% of assets in inflation-protected debt securities included in the Barclays® U.S. Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities (TIPS) Index (Series-L). It engages in transactions that have a leveraging effect on the fund, including investments in derivatives - such as swaps (interest rate, total return, and credit default) and futures contracts - and forward-settling securities, to adjust the fund's risk exposure.

Similarity

FeeX's similarity algorithm analyzes over 15 investment characteristics like investment category, asset allocation, strategy, geographical allocation and more. FeeX gives each its own weight and calculates the similarity of any two investments based on a scale of 0 to 100%. Funds with a similarity ranking of 85% and higher are considered "similar".

Yes, funds and ETFs charge fees

Deep within every fund you own lies a hidden fee called expense ratio. It takes away a set % of your savings each and every year. It can often be easily reduced by switching to similar investments with lower expense ratios.
