The investment seeks to provide investors with a high level of total return in excess of inflation as may be consistent with the preservation of capital. At least 80% of the fund's net assets, plus borrowings for investment purposes, will be invested in inflation-indexed securities that are denominated in U.S. dollars and derivative instruments denominated in U.S. dollars whose returns are linked to the inflation rate. The fund will invest in derivatives as a substitute for direct investment in inflation-indexed securities.
The investment seeks to provide investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance of the Barclays U.S. Government Inflation-Linked Bond Index. The fund generally invests at least 80% of total assets in securities comprising the index or in securities that the investment adviser determines have economic characteristics that are substantially identical to the economic characteristics of the securities that comprise the index. The index is designed to measure the performance of the inflation protected public obligations of the U.S. Treasury, commonly known as "TIPS." It is non-diversified.
The investment seeks to provide total return that closely corresponds, before fees and expenses, to the total return of the BofA Merrill Lynch 15+ Year US Inflation-Linked Treasury IndexSM. The fund invests at least 80% of its total assets (exclusive of collateral held from securities lending) in the component securities of the BofA Merrill Lynch 15+ Year US Inflation-Linked Treasury Index SM (the "underlying index"). The underlying index is an unmanaged index comprised of TIPS (Treasury Inflation Protected Securities) with a maturity of at least 15 years.
