Description
The investment seeks maximum long-term total return through a combination of current income and capital appreciation. The fund will normally invest at least 80% of its net assets, plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes, in U.S. and non-U.S. real estate and real estate-related issuers. It invests primarily in REITs and other equity securities. The fund will invest at least 40% of its total assets in securities of non-U.S. issuers, unless market conditions are not deemed favorable by the portfolio manager, in which case the fund would invest at least 30% of its net assets in securities of non-U.S. issuers. It is non-diversified.
The investment seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the Northern Trust Global Quality Real Estate IndexSM. The fund normally will invest at least 80% of its total assets in the securities of the underlying index and in ADRs and GDRs based on the securities in the underlying index. The index is designed to measure the performance of companies that exhibit certain quality, valuation and momentum characteristics within a universe of publicly-traded equity securities of U.S. and non-U.S. real estate investment trusts and real estate companies. The fund is non-diversified.
The investment seeks total return. Under normal market conditions, at least 80% of the fund's net assets will be invested in income-producing common stocks and other real estate securities, including real estate investment trusts ("REITs"). It invests in securities of issuers from at least three different countries (including the United States), with at least 40% of the fund's net assets invested in foreign securities. The fund may invest up to 20% of its net assets in debt securities of any rating or maturity, including high yield debt securities (otherwise known as "junk bonds"), that are issued or guaranteed by real estate and other companies.
