The investment seeks capital appreciation. The fund normally invests its assets primarily in foreign equity securities, including emerging market equity securities. Equity securities include common stocks and other securities that represent an ownership interest (or right to acquire an ownership interest) in a company or other issuer. The fund may invest a large percentage of the fund's assets in issuers in a single country, a small number of countries, or a particular geographic region.
The investment seeks long-term growth of capital through investments primarily in the common stocks of rapidly growing, small- to medium-sized companies outside the U.S. The managers expect to invest substantially all of its assets outside the U.S. and to diversify broadly among developed and emerging countries throughout the world. Normally, at least 80% of the fund's net assets (including any borrowings for investment purposes) will be invested in stocks.
The investment seeks long-term capital appreciation. The fund invests in small companies based outside the U.S., including companies in emerging and frontier as well as in developed markets. It invests at least 80% of its net assets (plus any borrowings for investment purposes) in common stocks, preferred stocks, rights and warrants issued by small companies that are based outside the United States, securities convertible into such securities (including Depositary Receipts), and investment companies that invest in the types of securities in which the Portfolio would normally invest. The fund normally holds investments across at least 12 countries.
