The fund invests primarily in equity securities of foreign companies. It will typically invest in companies with capitalizations similar to those in the MSCI EAFE® Index at the time of investment. It generally will hold long positions, either directly or through equity-related derivatives (such as futures, options, and total return swaps), which may total up to 140% of the fund's net assets, and short positions, either directly or through equity-related derivatives (such as futures, options, and total return swaps), which may total up to 40% of the fund's net assets.
The investment seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the Northern Trust International Quality Dividend Dynamic IndexSM.
The fund will invest at least 80% of its total assets in the securities of the index and in ADRs and GDRs based on the securities in the index. The index is designed to provide exposure to a high-quality, income-oriented portfolio of international equity securities issued by non-U.S.-based companies, with an emphasis on long-term capital growth and a targeted overall volatility that is greater than that of the Northern Trust International Large Cap IndexSM.
