The investment seeks to provide a high total return consistent with reasonable risk by investing primarily in a diversified portfolio of stocks. The fund normally invests at least 80% of its net assets, including borrowings for investment purposes, in equity securities of foreign companies (common and preferred stock and the depositary receipts on such stock). The managers define non-U.S. large-cap companies as those whose market capitalization falls within the range of the Morgan Stanley Capital International ("MSCI") Europe, Australasia and Far East ("EAFE") Index at the time of investment.
The investment seeks to provide its shareholders with long-term total return. The fund primarily invests in the equity securities of mid- and large-capitalization companies located in Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, and throughout the rest of the world. The fund's investments will be tied economically to at least 10 different countries other than the U.S. and at least 40% of the fund's assets will be invested in companies tied economically to countries outside the U.S. Under normal circumstances, at least 80% of the fund's assets will be invested in equity securities and related investments with similar economic characteristics.
