The investment seeks long-term capital appreciation. The fund invests principally in equity securities of foreign companies. These companies generally have market capitalizations (market value of publicly traded securities) greater than $5 billion. A foreign company is determined to be "foreign" on the basis of its domicile, its principal place of business, its primary stock exchange listing, and/or the source of its revenues. Under normal market conditions, the fund invests at least 80% of its net assets measured at the time of purchase in equity securities of issuers located in at least three countries outside of the United States.
The investment seeks long-term capital appreciation. The fund normally invests at least 65% of its total assets in a diversified portfolio of equity securities of companies located outside of the United States that the fund's sub-adviser considers to offer attractive valuations. It invests in a variety of countries throughout the world including emerging market countries and may, from time to time, invest more than 25% of its assets in any one country or group of countries. It may invest in companies of any size market capitalization.
