The investment seeks capital appreciation. The fund mainly invests in the common stock of growth companies that are domiciled or have their primary operations outside of the United States. It may invest 100% of its assets in securities of foreign companies. The fund may invest in emerging markets as well as in developed markets throughout the world. It normally will invest at least 65% of its total assets in common and preferred stocks of issuers in at least three different countries outside of the United States, and emphasize investments in common stocks of issuers that the portfolio managers consider to be "growth" companies.
The investment seeks long-term growth of capital. The fund invests primarily in non-U.S. securities, including securities of issuers located in emerging markets. It invests primarily in common stocks. The fund invests in companies that Fidelity Management & Research Company (FMR) believes have above-average growth potential (stocks of these companies are often called "growth" stocks). It allocates investments across countries and regions. The fund uses fundamental analysis of factors such as each issuer's financial condition and industry position, as well as market and economic conditions, to select investments.

The fund invests primarily in equity securities of established companies that are economically tied to various countries throughout the world (excluding the U.S.). It may invest directly or indirectly in foreign securities or foreign currencies of both developed and developing countries.
