The investment seeks long-term growth of capital. The fund will invest significantly (at least 40% of total assets under normal market conditions and at least 30% of total assets if market conditions are not deemed favorable) in issuers: (i) organized or located outside of the U.S.; (ii) whose primary trading market is located outside the U.S.; or (iii) doing a substantial amount of business outside the U.S., which the fund's manager considers to be a company that derives at least 50% of its revenue from business outside the U.S. or has at least 50% of its assets outside the U.S.
The investment seeks long-term growth of capital through investments primarily in the common stocks of established, non-U.S. companies. The managers expect to invest substantially all of its assets in stocks outside the U.S. and to diversify broadly among developed and emerging countries throughout the world. It normally invests in at least five countries. The fund may purchase the stocks of companies of any size, but its focus will typically be on large-sized companies. Normally, at least 80% of the fund's net assets (including any borrowings for investment purposes) will be invested in stocks.
The investment seeks capital appreciation. The fund normally invests at least 80% of its assets in equity securities of foreign (including emerging markets) companies. The "equity securities" in which the fund principally invests are common stocks, depositary receipts, preferred stocks, securities convertible into common stocks, and securities that carry the right to buy common stocks including rights and warrants. It will normally invest its assets in investments that are tied economically to a number of countries throughout the world.
