The investment seeks long-term growth of capital by investing primarily in common stocks of foreign companies. To pursue its goal, the fund invests mainly in common stocks of foreign companies, including companies in developed and emerging markets. Under normal circumstances, at least 80% of the fund's net assets, plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes, will be invested in companies with a market capitalization greater than $2.5 billion at the time of purchase. The investment seeks the investment results of the MSCI EAFE Minimum Volatility (USD) Index composed of developed market equities that, in the aggregate, have lower volatility characteristics relative to the broader developed equity markets, excluding the U.S. and Canada. The fund generally will invest at least 90% of its assets in the component securities of the underlying index and in investments that have economic characteristics that are substantially identical to the component securities of the underlying index. The index measures the performance of international equity securities that in the aggregate have lower relative volatility.
The investment seeks long-term capital appreciation. Under normal market conditions, the fund invests at least 80% of its net assets (plus any borrowings for investment purposes) in a diversified portfolio of equity securities (the "80% Policy"). It invests primarily in companies domiciled in and tied economically to one or more countries represented in the MSCI Europe, Australasia, Far East Index ("MSCI EAFE Index") and may include securities trading in the form of depositary receipts.
