The investment seeks to provide over the long term a high level of total return, of which a large component is current income. The fund will invest at least 80% of its net assets (including any borrowing for investment purposes) in bonds and other debt securities, which may be represented by other investment instruments, including derivatives. It will invest at least 80% of its net assets (including any borrowing for investment purposes) in securities of emerging markets issuers. The fund may invest up to 100% of its assets in securities denominated in currencies other than the U.S. dollar. It is non-diversified.
The investment seeks to track the investment results of the Bloomberg Barclays Emerging Markets Broad Local Currency Bond Index composed of local currency denominated, emerging market sovereign bonds. The fund generally will invest at least 90% of its assets in the component securities of the underlying index and may invest up to 10% of its assets in certain futures, options and swap contracts, cash and cash equivalents, including shares of money market funds advised by BFA or its affiliates. The index measures the performance of local currency-denominated sovereign bond markets of emerging market countries. The fund is non-diversified.
The investment seeks maximum total return and current income. Under normal market conditions, the fund seeks to achieve its investment objective by investing at least 80% of its net assets (including investment borrowings) in bonds, notes and bills issued or guaranteed by entities in emerging market countries (collectively, "Bonds") that are denominated in the local currency of the issuer.
