The investment seeks to achieve maximum total return, consistent with preservation of capital and prudent investment management, through high current income generation and, where appropriate, capital appreciation. The fund will invest at least 80% of its net assets (including the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes) in (i) securities denominated in currencies of the emerging market countries, (ii) fixed income securities or debt instruments issued by emerging market entities or sovereign nations, and/or (iii) debt instruments denominated in or based on the currencies, etc. It is non-diversified.
The investment seeks to track the investment results of the Morningstar® Emerging Markets High Yield Bond IndexSM. The fund generally will invest at least 90% of its assets in the component securities of the underlying index and may invest up to 10% of its assets in certain futures, options and swap contracts, cash and cash equivalents, including shares of money market funds advised by BFA or its affiliates. The index tracks the performance of the below-investment-grade U.S. dollar-denominated emerging market sovereign and corporate high yield bond market. The fund is non-diversified.
The investment seeks to replicate as closely as possible, before fees and expenses, the price and yield performance of MVISä EM Aggregate Bond Index (the "EM Aggregate Bond Index"). The fund normally invests at least 80% of its total assets in securities that comprise the fund's benchmark index. The index is comprised of emerging market sovereign bonds and corporate bonds denominated in U.S. dollars, Euros or local emerging market currencies. The index includes both investment grade and below investment grade rated securities. The fund is non-diversified.
