It will typically seek to maintain representation in each major industry represented in the MSCI Emerging Markets Index, although the extent of that representation may vary. The fund has no limit on the amount of assets that may be invested in each country. It may invest in securities of foreign issuers in the form of depositary receipts or other securities that are convertible into securities of foreign issuers.

The fund will normally invest at least 80% of its net assets (including any borrowings for investment purposes) in emerging market companies. It may purchase the stocks of companies of any size.

Emerging market countries include those currently considered to be developing by the World Bank, the United Nations, or the countries' governments. These countries typically are located in the Asia-Pacific region, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Central America, South America, and Africa. Under normal circumstances, at least 80% of the fund's net assets, plus any borrowings for investment purposes, will be invested in emerging market issuers (80% policy).
