The investment seeks long-term growth of capital. The fund invests, under normal circumstances, at least 80% of its net assets plus any borrowings for investment purposes (measured at the time of purchase) ("Net Assets") in a diversified portfolio of equity investments in emerging country issuers. Currently, emerging countries include, among others, Central and South American, African, Asian and Eastern European countries. Under normal circumstances, it will not invest more than 35% of its Net Assets in securities of issuers in any one emerging country.
The investment seeks income and capital growth. The fund normally invests at least 80% of the fund's assets in securities of issuers in emerging markets and other investments that are tied economically to emerging markets. It invests approximately 60% of assets in stocks and other equity securities and the remainder in bonds and other debt securities, including lower-quality debt securities, when its outlook is neutral. The fund allocates the fund's assets across emerging markets sectors, using different Fidelity managers. It allocates investments across different emerging market countries.
The investment seeks capital appreciation. The fund invests at least 80% of assets in securities of issuers in emerging markets (countries that have an emerging stock market as defined by MSCI, countries or markets with low- to middle-income economies as classified by the World Bank, and other countries or markets with similar emerging characteristics) and other investments that are tied economically to emerging markets. It normally invests primarily in common stocks.
