The investment seeks long-term growth of capital. It invests primarily in equity securities and depositary receipts. The principal types of equity securities in which the fund invests are common and preferred stock. The fund invests primarily in the securities of large-capitalization issuers; however, it may invest a significant amount of its net assets in the securities of small- and mid-capitalization issuers.
The investment seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield (before the fund's fees and expenses) of an equity index called the ISE BICK(TM). The fund will normally invest at least 90% of its net assets (plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes) in common stocks or in depositary receipts representing securities in the index. The index is designed to provide a benchmark for investors interested in tracking some of the largest and most liquid public companies that are domiciled in Brazil, India, China (including Hong Kong) and South Korea that are accessible for investment by U.S. investors.

The fund invests normally at least 80% of assets in securities of issuers in emerging markets and other investments that are tied economically to emerging markets. It invests normally in common stocks and allocates investments across different emerging market countries. The fund uses fundamental analysis of factors such as each issuer's financial condition and industry position, as well as market and economic conditions, to select investments.
