The investment seeks to achieve the following objectives to varying degrees: growth, income and preservation of capital. The fund will increasingly emphasize income and preservation of capital by investing a greater portion of its assets in bond, equity-income and balanced funds as it approaches and passes its target date. It will attempt to achieve its investment objectives by investing in a mix of American Funds in different combinations and weightings. The underlying American Funds represent a variety of fund categories such as growth funds, growth-and-income funds, equity-income funds, balanced funds and bond funds.
The investment seeks high capital growth with less volatility than an all-stock portfolio. To pursue its goal, the portfolio maintains a defined asset allocation. The portfolio's target allocation includes stock, bond and cash investments. The portfolio's allocation focuses on stock investments, while including some bonds and cash investments in seeking to reduce the portfolio's volatility. The portfolio seeks to remain close to the target allocations of 80% equity, 15% fixed income and 5% cash and cash equivalents (including money market funds) and typically does not change its target allocation.

The fees, balance and savings information above are estimated numbers, based on the data FeeX had at the day of publication, but may not be accurate due to incomplete or erroneous data.

The best choice is based on a combined analysis of lowest fees and highest similarity to the original fund.

FeeX's similarity algorithm analyzes over 15 investment characteristics like investment category, asset allocation, strategy, geographical allocation and more. FeeX gives each its own weight and calculates the similarity of any two investments based on a scale of 0 to 100%. Funds with a similarity ranking of 85% and higher are considered "similar".

Yes, funds and ETFs charge fees

Deep within every fund you own lies a hidden fee called expense ratio. It takes away a set % of your savings each and every year. It can often be easily reduced by switching to similar investments with lower expense ratios.
