Description
The investment seeks to provide as high a level of total return (consisting of reinvested income and capital appreciation) as is consistent with reasonable risk. The fund operates as a fund of funds. It generally invests: between 20% and 60% of its assets in fixed-income funds, and less than 40% in any one fixed-income fund; between 40% and 80% of its assets in equity funds that invest in small, medium, and large market capitalization companies, and less than 30% in any one equity fund; and less than 20% of its assets in specialty funds, and less than 20% in any one specialty fund.
The investment seeks to track the performance of a benchmark index that measures the investment return of the overall U.S. stock market. The fund employs an indexing investment approach designed to track the performance of two benchmark indexes. With approximately 60% of its assets, the fund seeks to track the investment performance of the CRSP U.S. Total Market Index. With approximately 40% of its assets, the fund seeks to track the investment performance of the Barclays U.S. Aggregate Float Adjusted Index.
The investment seeks capital appreciation and a low to moderate level of current income. The fund invests in other Vanguard mutual funds according to a fixed formula that reflects an allocation of approximately 60% of the fund's assets to common stocks and 40% to bonds. Its indirect bond holdings are a diversified mix of short-, intermediate-, and long-term U.S. government, U.S. agency, and investment-grade U.S. corporate bonds; mortgage-backed and asset-backed securities; and government, agency, corporate, and securitized investment-grade foreign bonds issued in currencies other than the U.S. dollar.

Similarity

FeeX's similarity algorithm analyzes over 15 investment characteristics like investment category, asset allocation, strategy, geographical allocation and more. FeeX gives each its own weight and calculates the similarity of any two investments based on a scale of 0 to 100%. Funds with a similarity ranking of 85% and higher are considered "similar".

Yes, funds and ETFs charge fees

Deep within every fund you own lies a hidden fee called expense ratio. It takes away a set % of your savings each and every year. It can often be easily reduced by switching to similar investments with lower expense ratios.
