The investment seeks total return consistent with a moderate level of risk relative to the broad stock market. The fund invests its assets in other underlying mutual funds advised by Invesco Advisers, Inc. and exchange-traded funds advised by the advisor or mutual funds and ETFs advised by unaffiliated advisers. Its target allocation is to invest approximately 50%-70% of its total assets in underlying funds that invest primarily in equity securities, approximately 30%-50% of its total assets in underlying funds that invest primarily in fixed-income securities and approximately 5%-20% of its total assets in alternative asset classes.
The investment seeks capital appreciation and a low to moderate level of current income. The fund invests in other Vanguard mutual funds according to a fixed formula that reflects an allocation of approximately 60% of the fund's assets to common stocks and 40% to bonds. Its indirect bond holdings are a diversified mix of short-, intermediate-, and long-term U.S. government, U.S. agency, and investment-grade U.S. corporate bonds; mortgage-backed and asset-backed securities; and government, agency, corporate, and securitized investment-grade foreign bonds issued in currencies other than the U.S. dollar.
The investment seeks long-term growth of principal while providing some current income. The fund invests approximately 60% of its total assets in common stocks, and ordinarily limits its common stock investments to no more than 75% of its total assets. Although there is no restriction on the size of companies in which it may invest, ordinarily most of its common stock investments are in companies with market capitalizations of at least $1.5 billion at the time of investment. It ordinarily invests at least 25% of its total assets in fixed income securities, including investment grade bonds issued by U.S. companies and U.S. government and agency obligations.
